The way everyone here knows the scam and describes it amongst mostly 40+ year old TD men that aren't the most tech savvy, I'm just going to assume half of the OT has had this happen to them

One of my best friends works these kinds of cases federally. It’s horrible. I have very frank conversations with our teenage daughter. I talk to her about not sending compromising pictures, but I also make it very clear that if she does and someone is trying to blackmail her or threaten her in any way, tell me. That I don’t care what she sent; tell me and we will help. Same for any of her friends in trouble. I never, ever want our kids to feel like they can’t come to us with something like this.

I'd never heard of this exact strategy. wow
They do it on Snapchat because the sender feels it’s a real person because they’re supposed to be “live” videos, as in you can’t fake a snap.
They have some sort of program that allows them to upload a photo / video of anyone they want via Snapchat rather than who the victim thinks they’re talking to
It’s usually Indian or African scammers and they ask for money by sending them info from gift cards the victim purchases.
The money will never be enough and when the victim stops sending money, scammers send the nudes to everyone on the victims friend/follow list, people they’re tagged in photos with, etc.

No woman would want a dick pic before meeting. If these are fake profiles scamming, that means the guy is sending before even meeting girl. Assume a scam. No real woman wants that before and highly likely even after meeting. But at least then you know she's real.
These are teenage boys with teenage hormones.
We were all p*ssy drunk at that age.

There's evidence out there that 1 in 3 children in the world has been a victim of some type of sex abuse.
I have 3 teen children. I make it a point to be aware of the vultures that lurk in their world.

Fake dating profile of a woman (usually a dude in Africa or South Asia) coerces guy into sending a dick pic.
Scammer threatens to send said pic to friends and family unless victim pays the scammer in bitcoin.
I had this happen years ago. Scammer pulls up my Facebook friends list and threatens to send the photo out if I don't send them $1500 ASAP. I called their bluff and told them to go frick themselves. Send it out I don't care. Never heard anything about it.

The state of the teenager is so much worse than anyone can imagine. Ill leave it at that, our degenerative society is skull dragging our children.
