Boston: 24% African-American population
New Orleans: 60.2% African-American population
It's not even close.

New Orleans is already over 25% to Boston's murder rate last year and January isn't even over. But yeah let's play down the situation in New Orleans because it's happening everywhere.
Now show me Chicago, Baltimore, St. Louis, Detroit, DC, etc.

Boston crime

The murder rate for black victims has remained disproportionately high as population growth has leveled off. In 2010, almost 80 percent of the homicide victims were black while they represented only 24 percent of the total population.

Well The Wire was based on two of Simon's books of his time spent with city officials. There's a lot of truth to that entire series

I know a high school history teacher at a public school in the city that told me they are forced by the higher ups to "pass" a specific number of kids each year to keep state funding. They have summer school for a number of kids so they can give them passing grades just for attending. A third of the schools senior class couldn't read at a 5th grade level or understand basic multiplication.
I'm aware. BELIEVE ME, I'm aware. I'm involved heavily with the Orleans parish schools. Again, it's not the kid's fault and there are good teachers in most of these schools.

Can you imagine getting a high school diploma and having trouble getting through a chapter in Goosebumps?
it's crazy to even think about

Fair enough, I'm just comparing overall city statistics. It's just crazy to me that Boston has two times the population of NOLA, and roughly a fourth of the number of murders.

No worries, I didn't know you see how the real system works. It's kind of sad how many people in nola keep their heads in the sand

amazing what demographics can do...can you tell me this where all the black people at? Is there a surrounding city that is predominantly black? I always heard Boston was racist

That's actually very interesting. I've never seen this site before. Pretty cool that you can compare cities side-by-side like this.

Didn't you ask me that in another thread and I already answered?

Wait that was specifically for Amtrak, not for hotels. Yeah I can send you some stuff. I have a guide that I generally send people on the TB asking for Boston advice - if you want you can shoot me an e-mail and I'll be happy to help out. It's a lot to post in this thread.

New Orleans certainly has a major problem from the top down. The problem is with a 60% African-American population it will always be run by a Democrat. Then these local reps/council people/pastors/whatever the frick they call themselves today are CONSTANTLY fighting for the wrong shite. They don't care either when certain areas of the city are under siege. Check out the shooting stats for the neighborhoods. The 5th and 7th districts have almost as many shootings as the other 6 districts combined.

I would definitely carry a gun. What's the worst that could happen? Dominos fires you?
Yes and No. Dominos has a no-guns policy on it's drivers. But in last 2 years at least 2 drivers have defended themselves with their own weapons from carjackings/robberies . The public came to their defense and Domino's backed off temporarily at least and didn't fire the drivers. One was Florida one was New Mexico.
Goolge results of dominos drivers using gun
