Who here uses what? I've looked at the details of both on the website and am leaning towards DSC, but looking for personal experience.

After 1.5 years of DE safety razor shaving looking for an alternative. Current setup is Merkur 34C, feathers/Astra SP blades, proraso sandalwood cream, escali 100% badger brush, and proraso aftershave.

FTR I shave everyday as in my mind being unshaven is a sign of poor discipline and judgment unless you're SFOD-D, DEVGRU, CAG, etc.

I got my 1st Harry's shipment in yesterday. It's the $3 set up kit. I'll post a review after I shave.

I don't have to shave that often so these are pretty pointless to me.

I've used Harry's but the razors are not as good as Gillette. I only shave 1-2 times per week though.

I've shaved daily for 1.5 years with it and no matter how many times I change angle, map/remap beard, change soap, change blade, etc I still get irritation. I haven't tried a slant but I'm thinking of taking a break and going back to carts.

Do you pre/post treat your face? Might help. I also use DE safety razor, but on 2-3 times per week.

What about how you shave? How many directions/passes do you shave to reduce irritation? I do 3: with the grain, across the grain, finally against the grain.

Gottcha. I've got friends that do Dollar and they say they like it. 6 bucks a month seems like a deal.

I've been trying the DE shave for about a year now and cannot find the right combo. I have thick, dark whiskers, but very sensitive neck. So I am thinking about giving up on the DE also.

Ditch the proraso and roll with the clubman...it'll harden up your flesh to the nice soft leather

Yeah I've done all the pre-shaves including oils and glycerin soap routines. On the post I've tried some different balms and lotions. I've also tried using a alum block with no avail.

I do a 3 pass shave (with, across, against). I even stopped doing the last pass and it didn't help.

I've tried both. Harry's looks cool, but I prefer DSC blades. If you decide on DSC, don't sign up. They're cheaper, if you order directly from dorcousa.com. Google for coupon codes.

LOL the clubman smell is what gets me. I know some people love it though.

This what I've found. Less aggressive razor use super sharp blade (feather). More aggressive razor use a less sharp razor.
I always shave in the shower so it eliminates alot of problems.

i have been members of both, i preferred Harry's. the quality of the products were better. mainly the razor blades.

Dollar shave club is good too, the razor blades didnt seem to be as sharp.
