Dog is eating grass- What is the OT experience with this?

He's a 3 year old Boston Terrier that is a rescue I have had for 2 months. When I took him to the dog park at lunch today and after work he was grazing like a damn cow. He has been tested for heart worms when I first got him and he was heart worm negative. This is the first time he has done this. Any reason why he is doing this? He's a great dog that is housebroken and crate trained

In my novice experience animals do it for digestive reasons.

It means his stomach is upset. Usually when they do this, they end up vomiting somewhere, at least my experience.

He's a dog. Maybe he was hungry. Just tell him to stop. Some think it means he wants to throw up, but that's not true.

I have a greyhound that does the same thing. been having it for 7 years and has always grazed. no problems have become of it. vomited grass on a few occasions but that's about it

It's a salad for dogs, it's very natural. Your dog feels the need to cleanse.

I've had dogs that did it, never caused any problems

Had same problem with our dog. Add a spoonful of canned pumpkin to the dogs food it will help with digestion

There's some sort of agent in grass that soothes an aching/nauseous stomach. Might try it myself one day.

pretty much every dog I have ever had did that...didn't seem to cause any problems..
