Dog has a swollen eye. Allergies?

I deal with my bulldog's allergies all the time.

Unfortunately a lot of the time you still have to go to the vet because you need the precription ointment.

But if you are hoping to avoid that, put a comfy cone on him so he can't scratch and give him a ton of benadryl (dogs can handle a lot).

In the end, you'll end up with the 2oz 30 dollar ointment called neomycin and polymyxin b sulfates, bacitracin zinc and hydrocortisone ophthalmic ointment usp from Bausch and Lomb

I have a black lab (#blacklablivesmatter), he gets that from time to time. Maybe some Benadryl and rest.

Thanks. And he rarely rides in the car because we live within a walkable distance to a dog park, beach, vet, etc.

Took him to the beach over the weekend and he probably ate a pound of sand whenever he went to pick up a stick I was throwing, but I don't think that's the cause.

That's a good looking dog. Did you consider a bee or wasp sting? If it was my dog, I would just monitor for a few days before going to the vet since there is no pain or discharge.

Hmm...maybe the wind blew sand into his eye or he kicked sand into his own face?
