cows drink better water than I get
Dairy farm next door when I was a kid had a well that pumped 24x7 into a canal for the cows to drink. I’d take a metal cup and sneak back there for some of the best water I’ve ever tasted. Hot summer days, and that water was cool, almost cold coming out of the ground.

I built my own house probably 300 feet from where that well was. Often thought about getting it restored just for the memories. Anyone know what it costs to drill a water well in SE La these days?

The only way to enroll in auto payment (or, last I checked) is to complete a paper form where you write down your payment information and mail/bring it to them.

You can do it now online
Couldn’t tell you how, took a few different tries

have my own well which produces very high quality water.

Is it even possible to permits to drill private wells anymore? In our current culture I wouldn’t be surprised for it to unlawful to have a private well.

The only thing I miss about living in Baton Rouge is the water.

Company here is more expensive and water has a chlorine taste

Very possible. My uncle just drilled one to supply water to his back yard pond when it gets low. The problem is, the closer you get to the coast the more the well water smells like rotten eggs. My grandparents used to live on farm in North Louisiana. The well water was ice cold out of the tap and safe to drink.
