Yeah, I'd imagine it would be difficult to operate a fast-food franchise in Juneau. Not a lot of commuter traffic and supplies must be hard to come by. Does a Big Mac cost the same there as it does here in the lower 48?

No. Have to go one town over for McDonalds. Lots of restaurants, pizza places, sandwich places but no fast food.

ETA: we do have a Starbucks

I grew up in an East Texas town of about 2000 people. All we had was a Dairy Queen. They now have a McDonald’s and Burger King, but their both in gas stations.

I'm surprised a town that size doesn't at least have a small Dairy Queen and Subway. Here in Georgia many one or two stop light towns will have that

My town is roughly the same population. We have 2 McDonald's 2 Burger Kings, 2 Popeyes, 2 Taco Bells,3 Subways, an Arbys,a Wendys, a KFC, and a local fastfood restaurant similar to canes. Some may technically be out of town but you can drive by all of them in a period of 10 or 15 minutes.

Population around 200k and from a map search there has to be 100 of them.

Our little town of 6,000 SW of Fort Worth has a DQ, a Whataburger and a McDonalds.
