I “get along” with my family. We don’t have trashy drama, and we’d all do anything for each other.
However, I’m jealous of people who are actually good friends with their family. Outside of my mom, most of them are so weird to me that we’d never hangout if we weren’t related.

Close with mom and dad, but never speak or see my siblings unless it's a holiday or something health related with my parents.

Dont think I have ever even had what could be considered a simple verbal fight or worse with any member of known family members

Of course there are the completely normal cases of people sort of being "lost" for some years because they are somewhere else or just busy with life. No "bad" reason for the disconnect though.
I dont understand how people could live with any drama in their life. Miserable existence.

I have a pretty large family with 6 siblings. Half of us get along great, a couple of us kind of get along, and two are like oil and vinegar with most of us.

Our family has always gotten along. Don't get me wrong, not everyone likes each other to the same extent, but we've always remained civil.
It goes back to the grandparents on both sides. You weren't given an option other than to get along. They wouldn't put up with bickering when they were around and they would put an end to it one way or another.

I’m the only one who moved away.
When I go visit for the holidays everyone seems to get along. Could all be for show for all I know.

After my dad died us kids haven't stayed close. There was a lot of hatred towards each other on the way my dad's last days were handled.
