Had them for 10 years for home and auto. Finally left them and paid half of what I paid yearly to them. Tried to make 1 claim with them when our garage got broken into and were completely worthless. They don’t want to do business in Louisiana so they put their rates through the roof

IME - auto rates suck I’ve tried multiple times but they can’t beat my current rate.

Home insurance though - they actually were the best by far. I have a 10 year old roof with 50 year shingles and they were the only insurer that considered that.

that's exactly why I fired them, they tried to jack up my rates(was living in La. at the time,) after hurricane Andrew, when I asked about it they came right out and said it was to subsidize the payouts in Fl

I have had them since I started driving under my dad and Grandad (naval officer).

As an adult, I have never had an auto or home owners or rental property claim with them (knock on wood). I left them for homeowners for a little while, but came back in the past 5 years or so. Their rates on the homes (personal and rentals) is WAY less than the quotes I was getting. Bundling everything (auto, homeowners, rental properties) and having a somewhat newer roof on most of them helped drive the cost down on all of the policies.

Rates? No.
Service? In my experience, Yes.

This has been my experience, as well.

Used to have far better rates and impeccable service. Their rates are on par with everyone now and I have no idea about the service but it is probably off what it once was. Still a viable option probably.

25 year member. I’ll just say it’s not what it used to be in terms of service. Complete hassle on a house claim. Hail damage. Come to find out they source those out to a 3rd party company that in no way has the same service culture I’m used to with them.
