what is amusing to me is that some of the greatest thinkers in the history of mankind have hashed this back and forth and been unable to convince each other or themselves what the true answer is.
Then this group of dolts, pervs and cretins who are obsessed with anal sex, drugs, watches, coolers and cars start a discussion with each other under the delusion an answer will be found.
I am winded.

Yes free will exists and people know right from wrong in terms of treating other people.
People can be batshit crazy and have addictions and mental problems that alter how the mind works, but free will still exists.

If I had free will, I would stop masturbating. I know it's bad for me.
An absence of free will would revolutionize Catholicism. The confessional would become obsolete.
I fap, therefore I am.

I resent that characterization, sir. I am neither a dolt nor a cretin.

God doesnt control us either. He created us, but he hasnt done much since then.
No. Free will does not exist. Not the way people think it is. Choice exists. Choice is not the same as free will. God offers choice. That choice has consequences.

What if you're wrong and God doesn't exist?

I've learned quite a bit. The rest of the world, not so much.

If you are talking about if you have free will to choose Coke or Pepsi, then yes.
If you are talking about our free will concerning our ability choose and follow God, then 1) yes before the fall and 2) no after the fall.

Why do people think that god wants us to worship him?
That is such an ungodlike trait to crave attention and worship. That is a human trait. I believe this to be false. God is above this type of need.

The only reason people invoke the "no free will" argument is to assuage their conscience. No one really believes they don't have free will.

If our brains are programmed are we making the decisions, or our brains?

Actually, it's good for you and can lead you to much more logical decisions at times.

Well, I guess you'd rather start with the answer and go backwards.
