Driving on the interstate in Baton Rouge is like playing a game of bumper cars on a road course designed by a mad man while having war shrapnel constantly hit your car.

I know I've just moved back from a major city... so my standards might be a tad high... but seriously it looks like a gravel truck accidentally dumped their load on the interstate from College exit through to I-110... The left shoulder is covered with marble sized pellets designed smash windows and do general damage.

I've seen them use 10 sweepers to clean up after a mardi gras parades in Nola... where the hell are they the rest of the year?

Exaggerate much? I commuted form NOLA to BR for 2 years, and the front my car would have been ripped to shreds if there was any significant amount of debris constantly in the road.

The interstate Is a federal road. I believe it's maintained by DODT (state). The city has nothing to do w it.

Talk to Jindal. Leave BR out of it.

Please note that the state has abandoned most roads within BR city limits.

I see those on I-10/12 from time to time early in the morning. That stuff may have been spilled recently.

They have them and use them. Used to see the trucks every morning when I went to work, around 4am.

It's been there for over three months.. I've noticed it since they finished the repaving that section of the interstate.

I was honestly asking if they use the machines on the left lane of the interstate, because the condition of the left shoulder heading downtown is awful.

Also, I understand the difference between DOTD and the city. I used the "Baton Rouge" as a geographical location rather than the legal distinction of the responsible party. I should have included DOTD in the original post to be clearer.

BR doesn't use cleaning trucks Bc they'd slow traffic. So don't ever say BR does nothing about it's traffic problem.
