The Bible also says to pluck your eye out if it causes you to sin. And to cut your hand off if it causes you to sin. We are also commanded to hate our family to follow Jesus. Don’t be cherry picking. Is all that literal too?

I believe the Bible. I believe Hell exists, whatever it is. I believe all deserve it if not for grace.

No I dont believe a supreme intelligence that created our reality would be such a petty tyrant as to punish lesser intelligent creatures for not accepting his existence or rules. If that is the case, then I will gladly burn in hell.

So that one act determined his eternal destination? We’re no better than him, IF we truly believe the Bible. I have no idea where he went.

Luke seem to indicate that there are two parts of hell.

The parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus-
Both Lazarus and the rich man died and went to hell, but Lazarus was comforted in the bosom of Abraham while the rich man was in a place of torment.

Ahhhhh gotcha
I’m not meaning to be argumentative. This has been on my mind lately and curious if anyone wants to be honest in their feelings like me.

My grandad was a Baptist pastor and I grew up going to church Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. As I get older I question a lot of things. I have completely discarded to old testament and question a lot of the new testament.

Rather than fire, it’s likely a place of eternal despair and depression. Nothing good. Think of your darkest day forever. No hope. Never to end.

I’ve also heard some theologians say it may be a literal lake of fire that unbelievers are thrown into to truly “die.” But I agree, whatever it is, it’s not pleasant. Separation from God in any form isn’t a good thing.

What have you discarded about the Old Testament? I am assuming you are saying Moses was FOS/crazy.

Or do you not believe the Old Testament was as barbaric as described? Hell they still act like that

The Bible says this;
quote:

God created man in his own image,

So what do humans do with their worthless, useless, rotting items?

* controlled burns
* incinerators
* gas flares
* fire pits

Its in our nature, because he put in there. And we are like him. In his image

So yes. Humans that were given the amazing gift of life and then abused the hell out of it, will be disposed of as waste

Hell is simply being away from God. Being without his grace, love and mercy plain and simple.

No one knows what hell is like as far as being literal. I do believe the Church made it as scary as possible in order to get parishioners and money flowing if we are being honest. money and power for the church not gods glory
