We've gone a couple of times. Acadia National Park is awesome.

We have visited many times. Last summer we dog sat for a month on the coast. It's awesome, like stepping back in time. Good seafood. We met some really nice people and some crazies. The water is to cold to get into which is disappointing. Summer weather is great.

Been to Portland many times - loved it as well as Kennebunkport and Old Orchard Beach. Enjoyed the LL Bean store and some Shipyard Export Ale at Three Dollar Deweys a few times

Wife and I went there last summer for four months. Absolutely loved it. Stayed in Deer Isle.

I'm going in July.
Fiancée's family has a cabin up there. They visit every year and love it.

I was sailing up there this past summer. Water temp was in mid 50s. That has to be miserable to fall into

Not as beautiful as the NW, but coastal Maine has warmer summer temps, colder winter temps.

Maine is one of America’s best kept travel secrets IMHO. Have visited many times.

Well they've been able to get able bodied adults to actually work.

Haha. It paid nothing and I had to pay for airfare and rental car. But I got a cabin for a month for free that usually rents for 1700.00 per week. Included with cabin was gyn, 2 swimming pools, bar and many activities available. Overall, it was a good time, but the dog was a PITA. A little yappy fellow who was not well socialized.
