Tell him to sell it unless he wants to sink thousands into it.
He bought it over ten years ago. Has it in a game room. He also has a pacman arcade game.. its the one you can sit down at, it looks like a table, but I think its something he planned on doing himself, but he ran into a problem with the board inside.. It might be one of those things he keeps because he has intentions in fixing it, but ends up never doing it.

Cool. My dad has looked into a few but they are always wanting thousands and it's nearly impossible to find someone competent to work on them.

Call my friend slippery pete. He helped me move an old frogger arcade game put of a pizza parlor I used to hang out in when I was a teenager. The place was closing and I had the high score on the machine and wanted to transport it to my house. Pete did the job.
It didn't get hit by a car on the way to your place?

Not sure I can help but when I was a young kid I played the silver ball too from a little town called Soho all the way down to Brighton. Oh man I must have played them all but I never saw anything like him in any of the amusement halls, he was really a deaf, dumb, and blind kid but man did he play a mean pin ball. He just stood there like a statue and became part of the machine, feeling the bumpers, always playing clean. He played by intuition, the counters fell. Man he was a pinball wizard, there had to be a twist, he had such a supple wrist. How do you think he did it? I never knew, what made him so good?
He didn't have any distractions, couldn't hear the buzzers or bells. Never saw the lights flashin but the man played by sense of smell believe or not. Always got that replay and never seen him fall. That deaf, dumb, and blind kid played a mean pin ball boy. I thought I was the Bally Table King but I just had to hand him my pinball crown, even on my favorite table he beat my best. His disciples led him in and he just did the rest. He had crazy flipper fingers and never saw him fall. Boy did that deaf dumb, and blind kid play a mean pin ball. I can't really recall his name but I think it was Tommy, I think he runs a pinball store under the name Pin Ball Wizard so just look him up. He'll be all over the Internet I'm sure. Hope my little story helps you my friend.
