We've tossed around the idea of returning home to Louisiana after the wedding as both sets of parents are getting up in age.
That's one of the things keeping us here. My parents are divorced and my dad never remarried. He's in his 70s now.
I'd leave but my wife has no desire to right now and she's not even from here. It has been nice having my daughter grow up around her grandparents, aunts, cousins etc.

I live in Nashville and have unlimited shite to do, but nothing is more fun than a big LSU football game weekend.
Going for one weekend when you know it's one weekend so you do stuff the entire time is completely different than living somewhere.

I never said BR was some great place to live but I've been to plenty of places I'd live here over

Nothing? In the entire universe of possibility, NOTHING is more fun than an LSU home game? LOL

I've been told I suck pretty well, thanks for inquiring.

I'm gonna need you to list all this fun shite in BR I've been missing out on.

And you still think there's shite to do in BR? Sure, you can go for a weekend and have a great time, but living there is an entirely different story.

First of all, I wasn't talking to you.
Second of all, the poster I was talking to was saying people need to experience other cities if they think a sporting event should be the highlight of their weekend.
That is a joke. I have lived and traveled all over the world and there isn't much on Earth that is more fun to me than a big LSU home football game. Good food, booze, tailgating with friends and family, and some good football.
That was the only comment I was arguing with. Just because that poster doesn't like LSU football, doesn't mean those that love game days tremendously aren't cultured and need to experience other cities.

im from BR. Ive been told i should move and get a change of scenery.

More of those considering considering there are about 3 of each to do in Baton Rouge.
Eta: when walkons (which I think is a fun place to go when in town for a weekend) is one of three options, there really ain't shite to do.

I've skydived in Switzerland, taken booze cruises on the Adriatic with pole dancers on board, gotten drunk at Oktoberfest in Germany, eaten mushrooms at the Van Gogh museum in Amsterdam, hiked the Canadian and American Rockies, hit a golf ball off the top of a building in Toronto, camped in the Mexican desert, and caught massive fish in Bermuda.
Don't talk down to me like I need to experience the world and only like LSU football games more than anything else because I haven't.
Its a time to be with family and friends, eat good food, and remember the great times had in that stadium with my dad. Its a time to watch great football and get goosebumps as I hear the band come down the hill.
Nothing better than a great LSU home football game.
ETA:
Again, I'm in the anti-Baton Rouge crowd.
But to say people who think of a "sporting event" as the highlight of their weekend need to experience the world more is just an asinine statement.
Its not just a silly sporting event to everyone.

What the FRICK is going on.
When did I say I don't like LSU football?! I did not miss a single game in my four years as a student. I love tailgating and everything that comes with it.
I merely said... that trying to make Baton Rouge some awesome place because of "sports" is a joke, and that people who think everything revolves around sporting events should get out more and see what other things are out there.
I also did not say those who love gameday are not cultured... quit being so defensive and jumping to conclusions - and putting words in my mouth.
Carry on chief.

Not at all what you said, but ok.

That is an opinion, you moron.
It's great that you love LSU home games. No one is trying to take that from you.
If you think I have been talking down to you, you need to stop being a pussy. I have done no such thing, just stating my own opinions of the city of Baton Rouge.
Edit: the above, is me talking down to you, in case you wanted to see the difference.

Apparently I need to get out and see more of the world.

Woof
Baton Rouge needs Chelsea's back.
I go Ivar's, Merchant, Duvic's stretch when I'm in town. Bulldog can get super douchey.
But yeah, there just isn't much to do in the city. Really wish we'd throw more into downtown. Build that tram to encourage more students to go down there and somehow incentivize more bars and restaurants.

Yes, I was speaking directly to you. Go, see the world. Start right now. Screw LSU, for good measure.
