In the case of Facebook I do enjoy it as a way of keeping in touch with folks a really like and care about but would not otherwise be able to keep in touch with - but it's not meant for political rants and I honestly don't care for them whether I agree or not.

There are hundreds of forums for socio-political discourse and Facebook is not one - some seem oblivious to this fact and seem to think it is.
