Is this really surprising? Of course, all brands have recalls. When you're making something as complicated as a motor vehicle you're going to have issues here and there no matter how diligent you are about building them. Chrysler however, historically has been one of the leaders in making short-lived, broken pieces of shite.
The numbers don't Lie. Chrysler jaguar and Land Rover have been by far the biggest pieces of junk throughout their history

The early 2000s Chevy trucks were absurd with the daytime running lights going out. GM had to know those lights burned out quickly.
Also, Chevy trucks come standard with a lit check engine light.

If I’m buying a truck it’s either a Tundra or a F-150.
Can’t really separate the two so whatever I can get for the best deal.
My dad is a devout Ford guy and my bro owns a GT350.

95% of recalls are because of distributors who made faulty parts. Parts that were certified 100% working and in perfect condition.
I'd be checking who makes their parts that were defective and make sure your brand doesnt use the same company, which does happen. Plenty of overlap in parts, as competition for building parts shrunk.

As someone who owns an F150 that needs a tune-up, I can honestly say I will never buy another one. Some dealerships won’t even look at them due to the two-part spark plugs that are known for breaking. IF they agree to do the work, and that’s a big IF, then they give you a sliding quote to cover the “worst case scenario “. The quotes I got were between $600-$2500 depending on how things go. frick a Ford.

I wouldn’t let a dealership look at mine. Most of their mechanics are incompetent meth heads and they charge you out the arse
Know many mechanic shops that would do that job for 500-550

This! Late 90s early 2000s were notorious for this. Mine ran like a scalded cat, but the dash didn't just crack, it fell apart in large chunks. Pitiful. It did, however, make fixing the shitty climate controls and radio connections much easier.

I just traded in my Mexican 2012 Silverado, lost the whole top end of the motor at 60k miles. GM went through and replaced it all brand new, did the same thing 40k miles later. Will not buy another Chevy

Really? I’ll admit I haven’t been shopping for one but I figured here in Dallas / Texas you could get great deals on Tundra due to them being made here in SA.
I remember 3-4K manufacturer cash a few months back.

The dealer seems to knock $8k off the sticker of a XLT. Every time I’ve looked the salesman did that, without me even haggling. Guess even the salesmen know not to bother trying to sell at sticker.
Tundras I found they don’t deal as much. Kinda surprising since Tundra is an old model but people are willing to pay for Toyota reliability. Other brands have more bells and whistles and better mpg but Toyota has the reputation.
