I really am not looking for advice as I do not plan on doing anything about this but I do want to know wtf is going on.

About 2 weeks ago, I tripped and landed directly on my knee. I stood up immediately and have had absolutely no problems with the mechanics of the knee. No ache, no swelling, no internal pain at all, and no discoloration. It didn't even bruise or turn red.

That being said, since this event, an area about the size of a silver dollar is extremely sensitive right on the kneecap. The skin has no feeling to it but if you press on it, it can bring me to tears. Another weird thing is that when you press on the area around it, it crackles like rice crispy treats (like subq emphysema).

Like I said, I am not going to the doctor because I am not going to waste money because I have 100% function of the knee. I just want to know what is going on.

Also, I have great life insurance because I know it is probably aids or hep c.

Don't press on the area around it.

Geesh. That was easy.

Please pay the pretty nurse on your way out.

Check the fine print of your life insurance. You clearly have "AIDS of the knee". That specific AIDS may be the exception. Some policies don't cover that.

Hope that helps.

Clear your schedule in 10 years for your knee replacement.

It can't be a meniscus tear because there are no mobility issues with the knee. It isn't stiff or tight or swollen at all. Also, there was no rotation to the joint in the fall. It was a direct impact with a tile floor.

Might be a fractured patella

Damn the luck.

In all honesty, your best bet is to go to the Doc. You don't want to just brush this off to only find out later on in life that it turned into something serious but could have been avoided.

I live with a lot of knee pain. It's not fun.

Then I'd think like another poster said. Possible patella issue. That rice crispy treat might be your shattered knee cap

Can a fractured patella bare weight without any signs of pain?

If I had rice crispies in my knee I would DEFINTELY not consider a trip to the doctor.

If you want to be smart about it, I am looking for a diagnosis, not treatment options.

Well we need more info. Do your rice crispies snap, crackle, or pop?

Sometimes falls like this will cause the knee to pussify. It is the explanation for the tears.

Please keep away from children as it can be contagious after prolonged exposure.
