Doctors of OT: I had a seizure last week for the first time of my life at 29

I'm 29, 6'3", 200 lbs. I run and work out virtually every day, and the day's I don't I'm at work all day.
I do acknowledge that I miss meals frequently and sometimes don't hydrate as well as I should given my activity level but I've never encountered this before.
It happened at work but I denied going to the hospital because when I came to I was embarrassed and in shock, my employer was less then enthused that I denied to go to the hospital.
Is it likely this is a case of simply not eating, being dehydrated, lacking sleep, excess stress, etc?

I’m not a doctor.
But you should go see a doctor

Dont guess, go to the Dr baw. had a coworker had a seizure and it turned out he had a condition where he now has to take meds daily to prevent them. Sometimes its not so cut n dry.
You dont want another one while doing 70 down the interstate ...

If you have no explainable drug withdrawal, go see a real doctor, not the OT.
Obligatory IANAD, but I've done these things countless times and have never had a seizure. See a damn doctor, brother.

It is not from the things you said. New onset seizures need to get worked up. Can’t ignore this one. Go see the doc and good luck.

Imagine you are driving with people you care for and it happens, when it could have been prevented.

Could you feel it coming on a few seconds beforehand?

I don't think so but I wouldn't remember anyway, I just came to with paramedics around but other then that it was a normal day. I rarely eat more than a meal a day and always have had problems sleeping, but I've never had a seizure.

Anytime you seizure or pass out should be an instant CT. What are you waiting for? The good news it's evidently not an emergency. The bad news is the longer you wait to let something linger the worse some sort of condition can get.

First off, how do you know that you had a seizure? Because the neurologist will want to be convinced it was a seizure.
After you confirm that -
Don’t see your primary care MD.
Don’t go to the Emergency room.
But do make an initial appointment with a neurologist to get this worked up. It will take a few months but you will be glad you did.

I am a Doctor, and you should absolutely go have a workup done. Likely is nothing too serious, but could be something you would want to catch early.
Don't let fear or pride get in the way of taking care of yourself.

You could have a brain tumor or something that would cause this all of the sudden. Not trying to be Debbie downer, but I don’t think you understand the seriousness.

GO to Doctor.
New onset seizures in an adult are nothing to play with. You don’t just have seizures for missing a meal/being a little thirsty.

if they determine that it was a seizure, you won't be able to drive for 6 months probably. just an fyi.

Exercise has nothing to do with seizures.

Reason I asked was a few years ago I had 5 episodes over a couple weeks where I would end up face down on the ground with no idea of what happened, only that I would feel off for about 5 seconds before hitting the ground. College roommates all thought it was seizures. I got a workup done. I can’t remember what the doc called it, but it was actually a disconnect between my brain and heart that would periodically drop my heart rate way down to where I’d black out. It’s actually somewhat common.
I was on meds for a few months, then nothing like it has happened since. But yeah, go get a workup done

Lucky it didn't happen when you were driving. But next time it could, go to a doctor.
