So sorry to hear. I clerked for the Kantrow Spaht for two years and took family law from Professor Spaht.
My prayers to the family.

It is 100% her. Her family is an Baton Rouge institution and are absolutely wonderful people IRL.

Our entire culture from top to bottom has been organized by ideologues to pick winners and losers. Which is fine if you are a winner. But combining all the losers with the rage that now exists everywhere in this culture, and throw in the fact that every 20th person seems to be either batshit crazy or an addict of some kind, I just expect this sort of thing. As people sense a system stacked again them ( whether they be right or wrong) the most unstable will increasingly act out. We saw that with the judge’s family in NYC recently. This is now a country where seemingly everybody has a grievance.
I have met the deceased and other family members. They were associated with LSU for maybe 75 years in one way or another. RIP.

On an unrelated note, Professor Spaht is directly responsible for the way the divorce system in Louisiana is now situated. The system that is sexist against males at every turn is of her doing. It’s a system that would have worked better in 1960 not 2021. Males should not be discriminated against because they are males. When you’re getting screwed by a judge for alimony or not seeing your child as much as you’d like, you can thank professor Spaht.
Not really the time or place for this conversation

It is shocking the amount of people around us have a grievance and a gun. That’s all I’m trying to say. I first met the Spaht family in 1984 and they are stellar.
Edit- just to clarify, I have guns and am pro- gun, pro Second Amendment. Not so much on the grievances.

Was this a domestic dispute? Jilted husband or something?

Sick (physically and mentally) doctor applied for a job at Lindley's pediatric practice and did not get the job. He held her hostage for 6 hours and murder suicided. Rumors he was terminally ill - but unsubstantiated at this point.

Or not? It's a thread about her daughter getting murdered. I know for a fact her family members post on here as well.
Let's let that topic go for now, what do you say?

What the hell...what a terrible situation. Why did he do this to her??

The article says there were two “ victims”. Ridiculous.
That bastard killed her.
How the frick is he a victim?

He had weeks to live and was soon going to hospice.
How selfish can a person be? Why the frick would he take her with him? A lovely person that cared for children. Gone.

I hope he burns in hell, seriously. That’s so fricked up.

I believe she had small children of her own as well. How tragic!
