I generally always do it. I don't even know if the other person sees it, pays attention, or even cared one way or the other. But that is my attempt at being a decent human being I guess

If your cars steering, throttle, and brake are all controlled by your hands, you probably should not be taking one off to wave.

A few days ago I was going into a 7-11. This heavyset troll of a woman, about 55 years old was about 15 feet from the door, heading toward it. I stopped and waited for her, then held the door open for her to go in.

Well, Princess saunters in with no thought of a thank you, or any kind of acknowledgement whatsoever. I said "You're welcome". She turned and looked at me with that look that let's me know she is wondering WTF is wrong with me.

I just left. I did not escalate, but think I could have taken her with a good left hook. Sorry my story does not have a cool ending.

more often than not people are appreciative but the heavyset black woman with 5 kids walking into a Canal Street Mcdonalds a couple years back got me real good. gave her the standard "youre welcome" after i held the door for her and each member of her flock and she turned to me and said "no YOU welcome"
