Do you tip your golf instructor?

I tip everyone because I like good service and I like priority. I tip my go tk Bartenders because they will get me a drink at the back of the line.

I tip instructors because they'll make time for me over someone else.

99% of golf is. It requires little to no athletic prowess.

If he is the head pro at a course and a Class A PGA Professional? No tip is needed and I know some pros who would be slightly offended receiving one.

Possibly an assistant pro depending on the circumstances. It sounds like you bought standard rate lessons though so no tip necessary.

Golf instructors are for those who don't want to actually practice. Similar to personal trainers.

Not unless he stays late or plays a round with you on the weekend to help you out. A tip isn't meant to be a "thank you for simply doing what I paid you to do" it's supposed to be an incentive to bust your arse and go above and beyond what you're expect to provide.

I watched YouTube videos on every part of the swing. Then went to the driving range every day for three months. One day it happened after I finally started hitting down on the ball. I filmed myself too with my phone. I'm not on tour but game is good enough to play with others/work buddies and not be the hacker. I rarely lose a ball or shank it.
