"They" is a broad term because its not just one person. It's a system and there really isn't a name for it. The educational system is corrupt and meant to teach people just enough to be functional workers. It's a joke.
ETA: It's people getting paid large sums of money to tamper with and update the curriculums. They see dollar signs and think it's ok to teach your children this garbage. So yeah they is broad stroke.

If we had faked the landing, you can bet the Soviets would have screamed about it from Moscow to Manila. No way they let us slide on the greatest PR event in history. You know they were monitoring every single mission.
My late dad though, God bless his soul, went to his grave believing it was faked.

I don't understand how anyone could doubt the moon landing.

Not only that, but the Chinese even confirmed we went. Why would they do that if we faked it? I also believe their was an Indian probe flyby that showed Eagles descent stage sitting in the Sea of Tranquility.
