Trend line thinking began when I learned that agendas infiltrate too many - on all/both sides of arguments, climate change included.

When it’s 36C in places and with high frequency (relative to historical frequency) that never had / needed AC before during summer…

When frequency of rapid weather change and higher range of change (relative to historical frequency and range)…

Or perhaps no change or decrease in trend lines

Trend lines and objective thinking to keep political poisoned mindset away.

I don’t disagree agendas are on both sides. Pretty easy to see the ice caps melting and reefs bleaching, so that part is at least true. Is the earth on a warming cycle? Yes without question. Will it cycle back? No idea. Are humans to “blame”? Not necessarily.

I think we are seeing the byproduct of a very dumbed down public education system across the US right now. There is nearly universal lack of critical thinking. Some believe that the Gov can control weather, play 10d chess to keep the "truth" from being exposed while others believe the Gov can give everyone free everything and create a utopia on earth.

I think they are. How else do you explain all this flooding? I'm in NC and we just had historic flooding around Raleigh and today there is horrible flooding at the outer banks.

Seems like the same summer scattered storms pattern here in SELA. Got rain at home yesterday and again today for the first time in a week or more despite there being downpours just a mile away many days.

If cloud seeding falls under that category, then yes humans are modifying the weather.

I don't think it goes beyond that.

Hell, we have a whole thread of people right now who can't figure out why it is a bad idea to shoot fireworks in California in the middle of fire season.

This!!

Throw in the politico’s weaponizing social media fear on these non thinking-types

And we get no shortage of gullibility.

I agree. Places that have never before had/needed AC are experiencing more frequent 36C weather (vs historical frequency). The change in the change is the thing. Dare we even discuss root causes of the change to the change?

People are spoiled nowadays. My parents in western VA (as did I) grew up without AC but this younger generation expect it even if temperatures still don't get in the upper 80's during the summer. Highest it has got in western VA and eastern WV over the last 10 years is 89. Record was 94 in 1926 for most of those cities.
