I will also say that anyone thinking there is "a cure for cancer" is not educated enough to even discuss the topic.

This.

Twice a month someone posts another dumbass thread like this one.

Guess what conspiracy-theory-rahtards: if we cured all the known different types of cancer known today, we would live longer and....new forms of cancer that we don't even know about yet because we don't live long enough would start to pop up.

I have had and overcome Stage IV Lymphoma twice in the last 5 years. The only explanation I have for surviving is that my body was ready. I firmly believe that it has a great deal to do with the strength of ones immune system and that is random. I was lucky to never be sick on the regular and the worst illness I had in 40 years before cancer was a seasonal cold and chicken pox when I was 6.

Maybe for loved ones of those in the know and in possession of the cure.

Why would they want to cure any of the cancers when treatment and selling false hope is so profitable?

The CEO of the Susan G. Komen foundation makes over 600k a year.

Imagine what the hospitals and pharmaceutical companies make.

There is a prevalent conspiracy theory that there is too much money in treatment for there to ever be a cure.

If most forms of cancer ever become mostly curable, there will still be much profit in dying from something else.

The want the absolute most advanced treatments. But not cures

So why not just price the cure to offset the profits from years of treatment?

They've really come a very long way. The key is early detection. Unfortunately, a lot of folks don't know they have it until it's already ravaged their bodies.

not a conspiracy theorist but sometimes I wonder how is it that we can shoot a dune buggy up to Mars, communicate with it but can't eliminate a cancer or two. With the research of DNA, gene, and other science shite, you'd figure we'd advance far enough to cure some.

Aren't people currently cured of cancer everyday? I know my mom had cancer and now she doesn't.

Oh, I dunno. Mapping out genomes, determining what is environmental vs. genetic, vs. infection, eliminating Diptheria, Congenital Rubella, Smallpox, Polio, and putting an incredible hurt on a dozen other common diseases that would hospitalize, disable, and kill thousands of people every year.

Oh-- and all the while finding ever more effective treatments against non-cured diseases, all while developing drugs that will cure everything from a broken boner to opioid related shitting trouble.

Yeah, the money spent in medical research is not being pissed away-- you just take the progress involved for granted.

And the cure itself will be lucrative. A lot more profitable than a dead person.
