I am sure people with kids have to tell their kids "white lies" from time to time, but what about at work? There are times I have said I knew how to use a program, when I really didn't so I went figure it out before doing what I was assigned to do.

Sometimes I will tell someone something simple in order to avoid having to go into detail about something.

Anyone have any "on going white lie"?

I almost never tell any lies...large or small. I find that when people tell any kind of lie, they generally can't keep their story straight and it becomes apparent pretty quickly that they are lying.

I don't lie, as in just tell people shite that isn't, for the hell of it, but there are times when, depending on the person, I might not tell the whole truth about something that happened. If I know someone will get worked up about something, if they knew it happened, I will leave that part out..

Probably everyone does to a certain extent. Someone asks how you’re doing while depressed and you say “yup all good here. You?” LIE!

Exactly.

That's a good example. You tell them "good" because it's the easy thing to say and it's a way of greeting someone than actually really wanting to know how they are doing.
