Do you help people jump their car if they ask you to

I do it every time because I am not a dick
My trunk didn't close all the way last night and so my battery is dead. And have been asking people in my apartment complex parking lot if they could jump me and all 6 said no. I even have cables. It's not like this is a ghetto complex in the hood at night. It's broad daylight and it's one of the nicest complexes in the area. Some neighbors I have. Even the apartment maintenance guys told me no. The girl at the front desk said she would have helped me but her car is in the shop.
Why are people so selfish they can't take 2 minutes out of their day to help someone.
Had to call someone from the station 15 minutes away to come out here to jump me.

I keep a small jump start box in my trunk that I attempt to use first before I go about hooking up my cables to their car. The jump start box works on the majority of vehicles, as long as it's not a truck or a v8

I carry an amp jump starter so I can avoid asking favors form the general public.

The last time I did it, they had their key in the ignition and were standing outside the car with the door shut. As soon as the battery got enough juice, the electronics turned on and the door locks activated.

I don't think people see me as the type who would rob someone. Its 9:00am on a Thursday Morning and clearly I am a resident as I am the only one who drives a silver TT convertible.

The best investment I've ever made was a jump start box. It's saved me a few times and helped a few others. No need to ask anyone for help, just make sure the box is charged.

Yes. In fact I helped an elderly lady that was heading to church just this weekend.

I keep an extra set of cables in my truck and will jump people if they need it. This is the south and I am a gentleman.
