Sometimes I talk to myself just so it will stop.

Talking to myself in my head? Yeah, all the time. I probably have more conversations with myself then I do with my own family.

Also my inner voice is often an outer voice if no one is around, and often a British accent.

I do to the point my wife accuses me of talking to myself sometimes.
My grandfather and my father both talk to themselves in their older age. It’s strange to see, it’s like they are having a silent argument with themselves. I’ve caught myself starting to do it sometimes so I guess it’s hereditary

My wife cannot understand it. She can sleep anywhere anytime. Maybe she has little to no inner dialog while I live with a chatty arsehole in my head.
My husband can fall asleep in seconds, and it takes me forever. And I sort of think he might not have much of an internal dialogue going on. Sometimes, I’ll ask what he’s thinking about, and he’ll say “nothing.” For years, I thought he was lying to me because how can a person be thinking about nothing? But he’s always insisted that sometimes he is literally thinking nothing. Maybe I could think about nothing if that damn little voice would shut up.

Until this moment I didn’t realize there were people who don’t have an inner dialogue going on almost constantly.
Who the frick doesn’t have inner dialogue?

One of my biggest social fears is that i unconsciously start verbalizing my inner dialogue in front of others without realizing it.
My friends would probably be cool with it.

I'm pretty sure anybody that has spent time on TD (esp the Rant) has had more than a few conversations with themselves about some of the stuff posters have contributed or admitted about themselves.

Mine sure as hell isn’t very politically correct.
And my inner dialogue has been known to use the N word with the hard R.

Everyone has to have some inner dialogue. How can anyone accomplish any task without it?

You think that's bad, mine rhymes

I also have a song in my head every second of every day, which I have been told is not necessarily normal
Last week for like 3 days I couldn’t get Pearl Jam’s Yellow Leadbetter out of my head. Even trying to sleep.

I think mine is different than simply getting a song stuck for a few days. Mine's just constantly playing songs in the background like a radio station. Yes, certain songs get stuck, but if one finally goes away, the next one replaces it. Luckily it's usually songs I tend to like. But I have almost no control over which song starts "playing" unless I make an active decision to start singing a new song to myself. It is weird to wake up or tune in and catch the song midway through and wonder how long that's been playing before I caught on.

I feel schizophrenic after singing along with this.

I don’t think I do but as usual this voice in my head keeps telling me I wrong and don’t know what the hell I’m talking about.
