You talking like a redneck by using a double negative was funny. Lighten up, Francis.

The guy was shooting and moving around a dark theater while people were running around. That's asking an AWFUL lot of someone with a CC permit. You're acting like having that permit makes one an expert marksman. The best thing to do in that type of situation is get the frick down and out as fast as possible.

Why don't you go back and read some of my posts. I don't feel like explaining this again.

Those are two completely different tactics.

Let's not gloss over this statement.

Why? It's a fair statement. He said "can be."

The problem is that some dumb people carry. Some really smart people carry. I can't control that.

But, if you're in a crowded, confined space with some ISIS wannabe or someone else intent on trying to kill everyone there, is the person carrying a weapon to simply cower and hope for the best while the shooter mows down everyone, or is it appropriate to risk hitting innocents, who may be dead shortly anyway, in order to try and neutralize an ongoing threat.

If you think there is a clear answer to that question, you're being obstinate because you simply dislike people who like guns. It's a complicated question of circumstance, skill and ethics that nobody can give a great answer on in a bubble.

Good explanation.

Why is it scary? It's great because pretty much everywhere you go people are carrying concealed so you don't have to worry about people acting up. shite...you can even carry concealed in a bar with no license.

I wouldn't mind getting one, but the whole not drinking thing would be an issue for me

You bring up a great point. There's a far less chance some idiot will go being stupid when they know that there's a lot of people all around him equipped and ready to respond with deadly force to whatever he's got on his mind.

I don't know. The more that comes out about this guy the more it looks like he's going to turnout to be a moonbat.

That also depends. This guy was planning on dying anyway so he probably DGAF who was carrying around him.

And in this instance he'd get off one, maybe two shots before someone puts him down. But if he's the only guy there with a gun, he will go on shooting until he decides he's done or he runs out of ammo.

He could get off a hell of a lot more than that.

Negative in this case. He was in the last row of the theater and starting shooting from behind when the lights went down. He could've emptied the clip even if 20 people in that room had guns on them. It would've taken Special Ops type skills to take him out. Also, he didn't plan to die last night. He parked his car by the exit, changed it's plates and had wigs and disguises. The dude wasn't planning on last night being his last.

The situation we were talking about in my post was a guy going into somewhere that has a lot of people he knows are armed like what 480 was talking about in his post.

This is it. I have thought about getting a CCL for a long time, and finally I came to the conclusion that I, who have no training or experience shooting under stressful circumstances, just don't need one. Would probably do more harm than good.

still

even if the entire room is armed, unless they are on edge, a shooter will still get off more than 1 or 2 shots before someone else can take him down

I don't think so. I think they can just choose to prohibit carry. I know I've talked to people that open carry and been told that they had been asked to go put their firearm in their vehicle and they could return to the store. I'm guessing at that point at a minimum they could get you for trespassing after being asked to leave.
yes for open carry that is part of the law. But im talking concealed. different set of rules. I guess it is how you interpret the rule.

Like how it is against the law to concealed carry at a parade. What if the parade goes down your street and you are standing on your private property. It is one of those things that would have to have an unfortunate incident happen for the law to be argued.

Nope....Don't need one. Have plenty of guns and ammo. Never felt the need to carry concealed and I've been in bad areas of chicago, stl, New Orleans.
