I see my dentist twice a year, and since dentist are doctors, I'm sure he'll recognize any serious health poroblems.

I do. But we get a discount on our insurance at work if we go. Saves me over $700 a year.

Just cause you "feel ok" doesn't necessarily mean everything is ok.

More so than a Physical Exam I have Lab Work done every 6 months.

I have to keep a watch on my Kidney Function.

I think they can get an accurate look at your health by looking at your Blood.

Yes, because it reduces my family coverage $3400 / year. I'm covered in full at no expense, but as long as I do a wellness they discount everyone attached.

Just had my annual physical yesterday - got the blood test and urine test results a while ago. Everything tip top.

Yes I do, I also had every test done to check my heart, with the exception of the one where they put dye into you. Had all that done at age 32, heart problems are prevalent in my family though.

hell no. I have medical insurance. I don't want them to find something wrong with me just to get a piece of the pie. I feel fine. if I didn't....I'd go see the doc.

my wife has 2 insurances. she went last year because of a naval hernia and they told her she needed a hysterectomy. hernia's still there.

This statement seems to make a lot of sense because most folks don't realize just how much reserve function our bodies have. Smokers, diabetics, and people with heart disease don't have symptoms until the lungs, pancreas, and coronary artery disease are at 10-30% of their normal function. The goal of these screening tests- and the reason they're free with insurance, essentially all plans- is because they're low cost, high yield, and can catch these problems before they've progressed to the point of having symptoms.

Cholesterol should only be checked every 3-5 years of normal. But the rest would be good to have done every 1-3 years in a perfectly healthy individual.

I got my lab results back today from my wellness exam and everything was perfect.

My wife was convinced my thyroid levels were off since I'm hot all the time but my TSH, T3, and T4 were all normal. I need the AC at least on 72 at night to sleep. In my single days I would run it at 68 in my apartment.

I just had my first annual exam, including all the blood work done last week for the first time in many years.

Quite frankly, I was anxious, scared and didn't want to know, which is completely stupid on my part, as I have a family who depends on me.

All blood work came back fine. No issues. Not sure really why I put this off for so long. I'll be going annually now.

For my blood work they did a Chem panel, CBC, cholesterol, thyroid, PSA, HIV, and Hep C. Everything was normal. I asked for the last two tests (HIV and Hep C) because I'm switching jobs in a couple of months and I need both of those results within the last two years for my new job. Prostate Cancer runs in my family so I will defintley get a PSA every year along with just the routine junk.
