I was listening to this mom on NPR yesterday going on and on about how she missed a significant career advancement opportunity because "she wanted to protect her children from Omicron".

Omicron is basically the flu and a more mild flu at that. I doubt this woman was doing the same each influenza season. Some people are so brainwashed, it's pathetic...either that or she just doesn't want to work.

Those people don’t deserve career advancement.

This thing has absolutely done a number on some people. It's crazy.

This is coming from someone who lost their 72 yr old step-dad back in June to covid.

I'd say the feeling I get for them is closer to contempt than sorry

Nope.

So, how is she protecting them? Sounds more like she's holding them back and making them weak.

I quit working on Feb 28, 2020 due to being so scared of covid. Really I quit because I decided I was going to retire early but I'm going to claim it was because of covid. Feel sorry for me!!! Reeee!!!

No , my company cancelled an in person company meeting but the next week my CEO came to meet a client with me. I told him the mental damage they cause by cancelling live events far exceeds any real threat Covid is posing now.

I had the flu three years ago and it felt like I was about to die. I didn't even run fever when I caught Omicron.
