Baton Rouge is a pile of shite that needs to be burned to the ground.

Maybe not Pineville but just someplace more rural than BR. Being in the middle of nowhere gives a big state school like LSU a lot more mystique.
I could maybe buy this if UT didn't exist, but it does.

Baton Rouge and Tallahassee are essentially the same place.
Funny you said that. I visited FSU once and thought it was "Baton Rouge with palm trees"

Madtown works because there is absolutely no other option for fans to embrace another school, and the campus is massive. UW rules the entire state, and Madison has no option to be the epicenter. Tally, Austin, Tempe, BR, Raleigh, they can't compare to that. UW, and Madison, is fortunate to be in that situation of a non-destination, small town, with no in-state competition.

You guys do realize if LSU were relocated, the only major universities in this area southeastern and southern. And Southern (based purely on programs offered) would be the only college with professional programs outside of health care
You are literally one of the worst posters on here. Stop while you are behind.
SLU and Southern are not "major" universities. We get it, you go to Southern. But almost every other post you try and make Southern out to be something it is not. The point was not relocating LSU now, nobody is saying that, they are saying had LSU stayed in Pineville, LA. I know you have no idea about LSU history, so give you a pass because you may be confused on that point. But the "Southern" is a major university, ruined that for you
Also to the actual thread, hell yes to LSU having actually stayed in Pineville. Perfect location and I bet today would rival any of the college towns actually mentioned.

Nope. 20 years ago I would have said yes. But this is clearly not the same "town" I went to college in. College towns do not have alarmingly high homicide rates and black on black crime that quadruples the national city (of similar size) average. I would say the same for Columbia, SC and Nashville, TN.
