I've kinda wondered how we could shoot a missle down to. It won't be as easy as a patriot hitting a scud. And if we got hit on a certain coast, how far would the explosion/radiation go?

So this program was proved successful a few years ago when it was used on a DDG. The DDG was able to successfully shoot a satellite that was in orbit right outside the atmosphere (I believe). Anyway, multiple radars, tracking, and missile of our own. Put up 2 pictures to explain:

The THAAD system in the bottom picture is what the US is putting in South Korea right now that has North Korea up in arms. And with the failure of their ballistic missile submarine system, they'll be dead before they ever launch the missile

Don't think it will be a traditional act of war, probably a terrorist attack

If it were not for North Korea I would have faith in humanity not to go down that road again.

I could see NK crazy enough to try, but not Iran.

The thing is that militarily they aren't nearly as cost-effective as smart munitions due to the inverse square law. They're also incredibly expensive to maintain and keep under control.

I don't think it will be. The technology and knowledge required to actually blow up a nuclear warhead is entirely too much for a terrorist organization. Uranium isn't combustible (for terrorist), so that takes away the only easy option. Plus, weapons-grade uranium is one of the hardest things to get your hands on. Unless you're Doc from Back to the Future.

Would probly be more effective to help USA, for him to just eat beans the night before and coordinate with the launch,,, hopefully wind would be blowing in the right direction.

Interdimensional extraterrestrials won't allow this to happen. They already know that humans present a clear and present danger to themselves and other beings.

I don't think anyone besides NK would really consider it and I doubt they do. Iran won't lob one at Israel because they have better ones and would destroy Iran. I think the US can shoot down ballistic missles so I doubt anyone really throws one at us. All this said I think a terrorist group maybe able to get a hold of a old Russian nuke or a dirty bomb themselves and will detonate one somewhere in the next 15 years . Those people don't care about the reprucusions
