An aquatinace just told me she paid cash for her daughter's car.
Should have used an American Express or Discover Card or any Cash Back card...and then pay it off when the next bill comes in.
For example...if you have a 2% cash back card and bought a $35K car.
You get $700 back!

they've started putting a limit on that, my wife wanted to do that for my new truck last summer to get the miles/points but they had a relatively low limit imposed, I supposed it could be waived but I didn't dig into it that deep

Whats wrong with that? Both my kids cars are paid for and I'm about gift each car to them......is that wrong?

This is what I dont understand why people dont understand the points, benefits and rewards you get from using a credit card or line of credit.
If you know what you're doing you can a lot more bang for your buck than paying cash

Exactly what I did this month with a new ZTR mower purchase.

Mine is with Capital One. I’m sure they have a limit, too, but my mower didn’t reach that threshold.

it wasn’t the bank card imposing the limit, it was the dealer/manufacturer, again, I didn’t dig that deeply into it

Yep, it's the merchant, not the issuer.
5% on 5000 is 250.
I'll write a check for 250.

No.
I'm not a bragger, and it's none of their damn business to know that I paid cash for my house, truck, cars, boat, 4 wheeler, golf cart and swimming pool.

It’s like the baws who voluntarily tell you they bought their vacation flights on points. Cool story, baw!

No. I don’t tell people about my financial bidness.
What’s worse is that people who like to tell you things like this, expect you to tell them when they ask you things. How much I paid for my xyz, my salary, etc. is no one’s business by mine. If you don’t tell them they act like it’s rude.
