Im traveling north, funeral procession is traveling south bound, and I'll be damned if the idiots on my side didn't stop dead in the middle of the fricking road. I just swerved around them and kept going.
Well, when I say pull over, I mean safely. Put on blinker, decelerate slowly, and pull onto the shoulder. Again, I'm not talking about the interstate.
When I was 17 or so, I was late to work and was swerving in and out of traffic like an idiot. It wasn't until I got to the hearse that I realized I was in a funeral procession.

I make sure to stop. Turn the radio down. Step out into the road. Take my cap off. Rip my shirt off and start cutting my chest and crying in the direction of the procession. This is what my pappy and grandpappy did before me.

How do y'all know it's a funeral procession before you see the hearse? Is it led by a police car? A lot of cars put the headlights on automatically during the day now so you can't tell by that.
I haven't seen one in years and years.

I haven't seen one in years either but usually the hearse is a givaway.

I'm reading the how to funeral procession rules and they sound easy to spot but the thing is a lot of dumbasses drive that way anyways.
Lights on, following very closely, driving slowly

only in this dimension, people live on. how do I know?
4 days after Mom passed, I heard her call me from downstairs after just getting comfortable in bed upsatirs.
took me a while to figire out why she called out, it was a reminder from her for me to send in the senior freeze for property taxes...and it was just the one time. I don't hallucinate via my ears, I hear what I hear.

nope, not on the other side of the hwy.
I don't think it's law in illinois.
only at stop signs and lights...wait til the procession passes, then proceed

If I'm on a 2 lane road I pull over. I don't if there's a median.

Well the hearse and police escort are usually a good sign.

Dr. Roctus: I am so glad that your patients are inanimate.
retiredtrucker: You heard what you heard, I wasn't there. Given my personal experience and according to the laws of the State of Louisiana, if a funeral home has either embalmed or cremated a person, they are legally deceased. If you had a workaround to be able to communicate with your Mom after she died, bully for you.

I always pull over. Today I got lucky and got in front of a funeral procession at siegan and airline. I made it to Florida Blvd in record time.

Always pullover. Wait until you are in a procession, you will appreciate it.
Not as the guest of honor though. That part sucks.

When my grandmother passed away and the funeral was in a small town in north Alabama, all the traffic literally stopped, people got out of their cars, and men removed theirs hats, and I could see a few people were saying a prayer.
I have never forgotten that.......

When my grandmother passed we had some hood rat pull right out in the middle of the procession, like she was in the procession, then I think she realized it was a procession and reversed back into the crack house she pulled out of....there was a huge gap between cars due to her being dumb...it bothered me a little bit
