The literally thing is ridiculous because using "literally" in that manner is a figure of speech as well. You have to be some archaic purist to actually get pissed off about it, and the huge majority of people who rank it as their biggest pet peeve usually aren't the type who can spot many other grammar/linguistic flaws (they're dumb).

People using "QUOTATIONS" wrong - I see it a lot in my job line. Even in our parking lot, there's signage up that reads exactly like this (and this is all on one individual sign, multiple quotations:

"Please"
"No Loud
Music"

Using them wrong? Why would "Please No Loud Music" even need to be in quotes on a sign? Who is it quoting?

But speaking of using quotes, I refuse to use the American convention of placing quotes outside of the punctuation when at the end of a sentence. It's just so stupid. The UK got that one right.
