Interesting question.

I'd say yes to answer your question, but I think the alternative solutions and customer service improvements are more so from having a capitalist economy

Millennials have far more "first world problems" than generations past. What constitutes a crisis today wasn't shite decades ago. This has been a repeating pattern though for centuries.

Im saying this isnt the case. while it could be said a greater percentage of millennials use these companies (a pretty big assumption), plenty of older people are just as influential in these companies successes.

Still no.

People using something that is cheaper, more flexible, and integrated into the piece of technology that they keep with them 24/7? What an innovative concept! Why, those wily millennials! What cleverness will they come up with next?

I feel bitching about past experiences is way more deserved than bitching about things one has never experienced.

That's a big ole broad brush you're painting with there Rog. I can probably shape this narrative to make any generation look petty. If anything your statement applies to anyone born after the advent of antibiotics.

Did the lack of options originate with a lack of searching or unwillingness to try something different though?

No. Disruption has always been a part of societies, economies, and technological progress. People have been searching and willing to try different things since the dawn of time. This isn't a trait unique to Millennials.

I wholeheartedly disagree. It's called the internet. Because of it options that didn't exist in the past now exist. Everybody is taking advantage of it. This is not a young people are better thing...

It was stated as fact, not opinion. Do you agree life becomes a bit easier as society progresses? Every successive generation has found technology and "toys" that has made life easier.

Then it's incorrect.

Yes I do, yet I would hardly draw the line in the sand of third to first world problems at around the year 2000. That's completely asinine, and again is a massive generalization.

Cord cutting and alternatives to taxis weren't options in the past. If you want to give yourself a bj on the internet you'll get a more positive reaction on facebook.

Yeah people hate on millenials, myself included, but those frickers are going to make working in an office obsolete. I'm really just jealous more than anything.

So instead of crediting millennials I would just say as a result of rapidly expanding technology we now live in a world that consistently creates alternatives to such problems.

Whoa whoa wait a minute. Every other generation gets the benefit of the doubt with things they've adopted and done except millennials. Let us have this one damnit.

We (I'm 34 so I think this includes myself) will forever and only be known as the generation that flipped our dicks inside out.

Technology has enabled people to have more options, and the same technology has enabled them to spread faster. One of the first people I knew to cut the cord was an old dorky guy in his 50's who everyone assumed was just showing the first signs of becoming a hermit.

Sure there are exceptions but the majority of these new-age companies are targeted at and adopted by millennials. The target market for Hulu, Sling TV, and Kodi are not 50-somethings.

My point is that you (not you specifically) cannot blame millennials for social media while simultaneously taking credit for the development of things like Netflix, Hulu, Uber, etc.

Yeah, they'll bitch, piss, and moan over much more substantial topics than the average millennial. They are much more likely to go on to do something constructive about that complaint than the average millennial too.

Speak for yourself. Obama passed the mandate and Bruce Jenner is nothing close to a millennial.
