My 11yo son does.

Of course they do it's just different. These kids are more enlightened these days due to their "education". I'm sure they are drawing rainbows, two dudes holding hands, and other crap like that. Drawing guns and planes and battles will get you sent to school counselor these days.
FWIW, I also spent my idle time in class recreating some of the great air and sea battles of WW2.

I remember in grade school or junior high I watched "Red Dawn" and was obsessed with a modern day resistance movement. I would draw all these bunkers and defensive positions with booby traps for the next invasion
Then when Columbine happened I got paranoid that people would think I was the next one to shoot up a school so I threw it all away and never mentioned it again.
