Usually I just ignore them but those damn amazon ads that show my recently viewed items get me every time

Never EVER look at them, much less click on 'em. Don't know these these companies get suckered into paying for ads on the internet.

It gets rid of quite a bit of stuff but not everything. Works great though.

I did open an ING Direct account many years ago based on a combo of their TV ads and constant online banners touting a (then) high interest rate.
I clicked on an ad and was studying it, but I probably would not have bit until a friend with an account recommended it.
Still have the account. Now known as Capital One 360. Now paying .75% on savings.
