Do Backpages Merchants make a profit

On websites like backpages, their are people who sell their personal consumer electronics and some who sell their "personal time for donations"
But how much money do these people really make. For selling personal products, using a pawn shop can be a very good option.
As for "personal timers (ie escorts)", if you factor in the cost of hotel stays during a week, you need a have some sort of cash. If you do not get many visitors, isn't that wasting money?

Most prostitutes are at shady hotels, and its 3 or 4 using the same room. It's not like the majority of bsckpage escorts are staying at 4* hotels. Not to be racists, but a lot of the time, it's middle eastern owned chain hotels like super 8 or motel 6 where the pimp just works out a deal with the owner. Also, a room is like what, 60 bucks. The first client of the day pretty much pays for the room and the rest of the clientele is straight profit.
