Yes, and showing up your first day without a shank hidden in your rectum is just dumb. Prayers sent (but we all know that no amount of prayer will save you from your upcoming plant shower rape).

I take it you're contracted. Contractors can be treated like prisoners because a lot of times they closely resemble convicts.

The operators are eating tbones and watching movies.

I'm doing this as a summer job to put on my resume but I honestly feel terrible for the people that have to do this for a living. Your at work for 530 bussed in, searched and bussed out and searched at 430. This shite is miserable.

I hated it the first week or so... Then I got my paycheck and decided it didn't seem so much like prison at all...

Don't worry, you'll just end up with non-descript back pain and file a comp claim anyway.

Probably not but you'll end up doing something equally or more miserable. Pretty soon you'll be a grownup with a job that you hate. It may not be in a plant but it will be every bit as soul-crushing and everyday will be a struggle not to succumb to the depression that was onset by your illustrious "career". Congrats bro, your life is about to start sucking and it won't stop until you die.

Also, you're going to die alone.

Meh, I worked at a plant summers during college. I thought the same thing. Now that I'm middle aged and tired of "the rat race" for revenue, new business, fighting competitors, there's a part of me that envies them and mindlessly repetitive acts all day.

I can't tell you how well this sums up my current views on work / life.

I never thought I'd end up in plant life with an undergrad and masters in finance, but even plants need accountants.

Mechanical engineering yeah I realize I will be in a plant but the scope of work will be completely different and it will be a predominantly an office orientated job with some field work.
