If you have several hours a night to play video games, your life isn't what it could or should be. Invest that into your career
Jesus, I work enough as is... why would I want to replace more of my life with work?

or take up a hobby or sport that gets you interacting with friends or family away from the tv and sofa
I love all the caveats. "You need to interact with friends and family" -> "Ok lets sit down and play madden together." -> No no no interaction only counts IF YOU AREN'T NEAR A COUCH.

I've seen people do real business around the tennis court or golf course
Your life must be a fricking drag if you pick your hobbies in the hope of "doing real business" while doing them.

I don't doubt it, some think they will be the next Twitch or youtube star and play and stream all hours of the day.

Some of my best times with my dad growing up was when we played Mortal Kombat together. His reactions to the fatalities made it very memorable

You bonded over activities tigerinwhateverthefrick doesn't like? It's probably because you aren't gargling the dick of someone who wants to offer you a job at the local country club, you fricking loser.

It's a price I was willing to pay

I used to sit on my dad's lap while he played Wolfenstein 3D back in the early 90s.

Nah thats ok, the whole idea of chasing little balls back n forth never appealed to me for some reason

For you guys that play video games, what is it about them that appeals to you?
Same as any fricking hobby or activity, gets your mind off of real life for a few hours and lets you unwind.

Exactly. And it's not like video games are your only hobby.
My wife comes home from work and works on the couch for another couple hours every night. I usually cook, we'll eat, then while she works, I'll watch TV or play a game for a bit.
Or if I get home a little early from work but am still "on call" until 5, I'll play a bit.
But if the weather is nice and I have no work responsibilities, I'm probably outside somewhere having fun with other hobbies. Golf, running, patio bar hopping if that counts, etc

In addition to video games I enjoy lifting weights, reading, cooking, occasional TV, hiking, and kayaking.
I just wish I lived somewhere with decent hiking/kayaking nearby.

People are divorcing because they get engaged 6 months after meeting each other. So many dumb fricks rushing into marriage because they're desperate or getting someone pregnant

I’m pretty sure I’ve seen your wife “working” on the couch before.

Do you realize how stupid this question is?
Different people like different things. It isn't a hard concept.
Holy shite, people like different things? I had no idea!
I know what is appealing about a lot of things grown men do, but playing video games is not one of them. Hence, the question. It isn’t a hard concept.
