Why do seemingly all of the social media and major Internet owners lean so far to the left?

To be cool. And to make money.

Very few celebrities and business leaders believe the shite they spew. Compare their actions to their words, rarely are they congruent.

They just spout whatever is going to get the most pats on the back at the time.

Haven't you figured it out by now that twitter, along with the likes of FB, are nothing but platforms?

Do you think the OP wants to take away the CEO's right to free speech?

The first amendment certainly protects that right. I don't think the OP wants to throw the CEO in jail.

That picture is worth a 1000 words over and over again. Sums up the twitter comment.

Because that has worked so well preventing violence for the last 2000 years.

Corporations are people! Why doesn't Fox News, Breitbart, or any conservative leaning corporate platform get your attention? Any reason?

Wow you pulled out the smug atheist and the whiny progressive in your first two posts in this thread. Can't wait to see what comes next.

Adrenaline? Cops have been shot and killed before this. They didn't see the gun at first, even though there was a call for it. Yell out to your partner and anyone around when you see it and the perp reaching for it.

Just because they yell that out doesn't mean they are surprised he actually has it.

Is he supposed to calmly say to his partner, hey man. He may be going for tma gun in his pocket. What are the courses of action we should take?

This argument is silly.

Exactly, if someone called 911 and claimed someone had a gun, that doesn't confirm that person has a gun, but police can't assume the person does not. When the police actually saw the gun in his pocket and that he was actually trying to reach for it, that can be an emotional moment. What do you want him to do when in an instant their life is in danger "duuude.. I think this bro has a gun and he might be trying to put his hand in his pocket to use it".

Also, for those who think no one called 911, does that really matter? If Sterling was standing outside of a store selling CDs/DVDs, that is illegal. You realize people have gone to jail for piracy? You should be questioning why was he resisting arrest. And when someone does resist, do you want the police to say "okay, well this guy doesn't want to be arrested so let's just let him carry on with his illegal activity".

If it wasn't clear he was reaching for his gun, I would question the action of the police. Did they go overboard just because they were getting overpowered? But if you think for one second Sterling wasn't trying to do whatever he could do at the moment to get away then I have to think you are just arguing for the sake of arguing.

Nope, and never said he did. I'm really just curious why he has chosen to be "disturbed" by a CEO exercising this right, especially over such a generic comment. It's even more interesting to me that he is seemingly glossing over what may actually be the real issue, which is censorship. I feel like it's a very common practice today that people get distracted and offended by the neatly packaged sound byte and lose interest before actually digging into an issue.

I just think as someone with such a big platform that can easily influence millions of simple minded folks, one must be very responsible and cautious. Regardless of your political affiliation. Not to mention that the "call for action" is off base when it is very possible that the facts will show that the officers acted appropriately in that situation. That is reckless use of power although he is free to say whatever he wants.

Yet you believe the cops could have handled it differently. So, which is it? Are you a police procedure expert or not?

He is a fricktard

He's from st.louis, and when Ferguson happened, he flew into town and marched with them and ran his mouth.

Yet, this dickhead doesn't have a Yahoo office, in St.Louis, but offices in 7 other cities?

Anything he says should be taken with a grain of salt. If you cared so much twitterfrick, u would have an office in St.Louis, in North St.Louis, with poor black employees. But alas.

In a perfect world this would be true, but in reality this guy is no different from any other celebrity or athlete who runs their mouth about something they don't understand. He's a flaming liberal who invented an app and got famous, that's it. Just seems like a waste of time to get bent out of shape over it.
