Yes, without a doubt.

Y'all do know that human trafficking and prostitution are separate things.

They are different things but I wouldn't say "separate." They aren't coextensive, but most human trafficking involves prostitution. Of course all prostitution (I'd say most, at least in first world) does not involve human trafficking. But some would expand the def of HT to include all pimping. Give it a name.

Legalization of prostitution could have the potential to fight HT. I'd like to see us regulate and use a good bit of the revenue to fight HT.

What an idiot that woman was...she WILLINGLY decided to be a slave to people she met online...then wanted to leave when shot got real. Stupid.

I think she just wanted to be a sex slave but drew the line at installing a swimming pool.

She must have mental issues. Who moves in with someone to be a slave?

Is it just being assumed that she volunteered herself for slavery? Because I didn't see where it said that definitively. Maybe she was just looking to move away somewhere? I mean, it's still a frickin weird thing to do, and why in the shite would you move to Ajax of all places, but it's still plausible.

Regardless, no one deserves being beaten, starved, mutilated, and chained up like an animal.

I believe this is where you register your slave. WTF?!?!

I half expected a joke link, but it's real. That looks like a site where just visiting it could get your ip address on some sort of watchlist.

Yes, without a doubt.

What for? What are humans trafficked for in the US other than sex slaves? I don't hear of human trafficking for any industry that's legal.

Well yeah...you have forced labor, forced marriage, even forced organ/tissue donation or surrogacy. LINK

Sex trafficking is probably the biggest issue of those, but even if prostitution was legal, you'll always have people who'll just "steal" other humans and use them for whatever depraved things they can think of.

The cartels will bring in illegals and use them as low level disposable drug dealers. And the illegals swept up in raids on businesses are often held in quasi-servitude; paid little, racking up bogus debts to their employer that they can't repay, in a strange country where they don't speak the language and are scared of going to the authorities.

But most human trafficking is related to the sex trade.

I'm guessing those big chains they put around logs when they pull them or put them on trucks?

I'm guessing it was probably more like simply a decent size chain, like someone might have in a pick up truck to pull things, but this amateur "journalist" wanted a more dramtic term for "large chain" so he/she typed that into google and found the term "logging chain".
