SippyCup--we do just that. Beach Club in the summer and BLT at Christmas--plus others in between.

FWIW--they are also building DVC at the Poly--trying to copy Bora Bora with the units out over Bay Lake--not for sale yet--but very interesting.
This will put DVC at all 3 monorail resorts

Me and my wife bought 160 points in January on the resale market. The only major thing is not being able to use them for Disney cruise line. There were a few other stipulations but I can't remember. We bought our points for $69.75 a point. I was nervous when it went to Disney for first right of refusal but we got it.

If I bring a family, I want the amenities of a condo with the perks of staying onsite. This offers that at a discount over time. I get a full kitchen and washer/dryer. Meaning I don't have to pack clothes for every single day. How nice when flying for a 7 day tip! And Im not forced to eat out every day. I can make home cooked meals as often as I want saving as much as I want. Then there are the added perks. First to get marathon tickets. VISA offers. Tables in Wonderland. Annual pass discount. Etc. They sell it as a " Home Away from Home" and I'm paying a premium for that experience. It's worth it to me.

I bought 150 points resale at Saratoga for $57/point. I got in at the bottom of the market. It was roughly $9k after closing. Then about $750 per year in dues. I got a steal, IMO

You cant compare DVC properties to moderate or value resorts.

In Hawaii? Because that's $156.25 per point. I don't know any DVC that is going for $156 per point. I think ours were $87 per point.

Depends on the age of the resort. But usually around 30-40 years

Resale lasts the same as direct from disney. You're buying the contract. Som end in 2042, others 2054, and the newer ones even later. Typically, they're 50 years from when they're first offered.

If you buy re-sale, and disney makes changes down the road, do they grandfather in people who have existing secondary contracts?

So far, yes. But that is no guarantee for future changes.

Just saw some more info on the FP+ at Toy Story Mania. Apparently it's to test how it would work if they add a third track and use it for fast pass only leaving the two original tracks for walk ups. They would do the same thing if they built a 3rd Soarin' theater. So if this is the case, it might not be so bad after all.

This ended up being a mess....we had the fast pass and it ended up still taking 30 minutes to get in.

Couple more quick questions(I sat in on the presentation last Thursday):
1. Do points cost the same across the board at the resorts (points at Saratoga are worth the same at The Grand Floridian).
2. Am I calculating cost per point correctly? $26,500 (rough cost)/160pts =$165.63
Over the life of the timeshare 50yrs x 160 = 8000 points
26,500/8000 = $3.31/pt

3. Do the timeshare guests have a private concierge who can set up trips for them? Can I give someone a list of places I want to go eat in advance and once the window opens up for dining reservations will they make them?

4. What are some of the added perks for being a member? If I pay a premium price for something I want to be treated better than the average resort guest.

5. It appears the last 3 months of the year are good to purchase as I was told that I would get 160pts for 2014, and my regular allotment for next....so I would essentially be starting off with 320.

6. When you typically go, are there any hidden fees? Aside from your maintenance costs/property tax, is there anything else that needs to be taken into consideration?
