I have travelled this great nation, been to 47 out of 48 lower states....Louisiana is the rattiest state in the USA! And I live here! Littering, furniture dumps, poor city and state road maintenance, awful zoning laws, and so on.

I've been to 47 of the 50 states. Missing Delaware and the Dakotas. I think Louisiana is the dirtiest state as well overall.

The large cities in Cali are definitely dirty but the rest of the state is beautiful. I'm no fan of California.

I mean the big cities like Detroit, Philly, and New Orleans are just trash heaps.
Can regularly find trash piled up in the streets and people in those areas don't give a shite.

San Francisco was the filthiest city I have been to... Trash, homeless, pollution, all of the above.

I saw people many times just taking shits in the streets. And this wasn’t homeless people.

That stretch along 880 from Hagenberger Rd to about High Street in Oakland looks like one long dumpsite. It's as bad as anywhere in the country. But you are right, the majority of California is not filthy as people think. Yes, as with anywhere in the country, the areas around homeless encampments are pretty f'd up.
