You actually typed that out and then you still decided to go on and post it!

Don’t read anything she types, she’s an idiot.

Shes probably just regurgitating what she hears what the ladies are saying at the beauty shop.

Exhibit A: Joel Osteen

Takes no salary from the church he pastors.

But go ahead with your soapbox.

Diocesean priests don’t take a vow of poverty. Just those belonging to a religious order.

Diocesean priests are paid by the catholic church/parish. They usually have a rectory to live in. I was in vocational discernment at one point and was considering taking vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. I like pussy and realized that religions are a scam used to extort those with weak minds.

Why? Is he not allowed to earn additional income that’s relative to his occupation?

The "additional income" that you speak of comes off the back of folks a hell of a lot worse off financially then most of us. It's the classic predator/prey scenario...aka, POS move. He/She/They are preying on folks, bottom line.

However, if the sheeple want to donate/tithe to this fella because they believe he has direct line into the big guy, so be it. I don't agree with it, or condone it.

I have heard Dino preach several times in the past year and many times since his exit from La. When I learned of his past, which I must admit, I don’t know all the details, I figured at some point he would come clean to the Church of Highlands congregation. The closest he came was one time, I think it was during 21 days of prayer, he was leading the service and said something about how he and his wife were having problems, but it was resolved by God as their hands intermingled in a big food bowl in some super piss-poor country as they fed poor kids.
The lead Pastor, Chris Hodges, of Church of Highlands in Alabama, which is listed as the second leading mega church now, makes around the cost of this house per year, from what I’ve been able to gather on him. If that is true, that is much less than most of the other mega church leaders, but quite a chunk of change, at least to me.
Dino is also over his ARC churches and is like his main back-up preacher when Hodges travels all over preaching in places like Australia once a year for Hillsong Church. Hillsong is quite an interesting story as well, for what those talented artists of their worship group(s) get in reference to how much that church is bringing down. A couple of those artist could be multi-millionaires, if they were just regular musical artists.
Back on point, David Platt, the guy the Baptists brought in to be basically over their churches (who just recently relinquished that title to just preach again) was originally at a church about 15 miles away from the Church of the Highlands in Birmingham. He only let them pay him like 20 or 30 thousand dollars and he and his family resided in the inner city of Birmingham. I do not know how much he is making now, though.
Ironically, or at least to me, Platt just did his Secret Church event where he attacked the Latter Day Saints and other “cults”. I’m no judge, what he says may be true, but the funny thing, at least to me, is that “Mormons” as he calls them, their lead pastors, don’t make a dime. None of them do. I guess they need all their money for their temples, I don’t know, you tell me? I also know everyone in the “Mormon” church gets up and preaches at some point, too. So you can imagine, going to a church, where at some point, you are actually the preacher. Again, not my job to judge, just stating facts as I know them.
Platt was brought in to try and help a lot with the Baptist finances of all their churches. One of their problems is they like to get “visions” and build more than they end up getting in the collection plates. One of the reasons why Church of the Highlands is so successful is they build nothing unless they’ve already got the money. They like to set up in the rich neighborhoods, although they do have a church in the inner city of Birmingham that watches on a television screen, like all of their satellite sites do in places like Auburn, Tuscaloosa, Huntsville, ect.
All I know about Dino is he had an affair with someone behind his wife’s back. Anyone know what actually happened? How they got caught? I do know Church of the Highlands is pretty hush hush about it. All they basically say is it is done and over and none of anyone’s business. Must be, because not even Dino mentions it directly. He is very charismatic in the sense that everyone thinks he’s quite the comedian and they enjoy his sermons mostly for that aspect.
