Although a great player, MJ was a piece of shite human being. If social media were around during his era, Kobe would look like the Pope in comparison.

His "retirement" from basketball to play baseball was actually a suspension for gambling on the game, but since he was bringing so much money to the game, they kept it on the down low.

Do you have proof of this? I would love to read up on it. I'll wait for you to present your evidence TIA.

You talking about a guy that would gamble $50,000 a hole in golf and was spotted at an Atlantic City casino in the wee hours of the night during a conference finals series and you're wondering?

Don't you know plagiarism is illegal?

Then, in early 1993, San Diego businessman Richard Equinas revealed in his book Michael and Me: Our Gambling Addiction...My Cry for Help that he had won over $900,000 from Jordan in golf betting. Around the same time, MJ was spotted in an Atlantic City casino in the early hours on the morning of Game Two of the Eastern Conference Finals.

And 20 years later he's not broke, so maybe $50k/hole was well within his entertainment budget?

If you watch the 30 for 30 "broke", you end up realizing the only ones of that era that didn't go broke were the few that literally made more money than they could possibly spend.

I equated the NBA to the WWF years ago.

I'll get bashed to shite for this too, but I still to this day don't believe Magic Johnson has HIV.

Yeah yeah, go ahead.

Knowing the narcissistic nature of superstar athletes it's not at all hard to believe. He conquered the NBA and wanted to see if he could do it in another Sport.

Kobe being accused of rape is not a reflection him except as a husband. That was a reflection of that money-grabbing whore. I would say Kobe is probably a slightly better person than MJ was, but not enough to matter.

WTF are you talking about? I don't know how old you are but that was all common knowledge about Jordan back then. That 50k a hole was something I've heard Barkley mention. I don't know anything about a San Diego business man.

Sure it is but it doesn't take away the fact he likes to gamble.

The biggest superstar to ever play in the NBA quit his sport to go play in the minor leagues. Think about what you are saying.

I don't think he was suspended or anything, but I hate when people do this. There is a difference between fishing for conspiracies when the "face value" explanation is very reasonable vs offering an alternative explanation to a seemingly unbelievable explanation.

9/11 needs no explanation because there are definitely people in the world who would try to do it and have said as much. Just a matter of them succeeding. MJ retiring in his prime and then coming back does need an explanation because its absurd and basically unprecedented. His dad dying is a reasonable explanation, but its not that much more ridiculous to think the league would cover up a scandal that hurts their name to that extent.

Knowing the narcissistic nature of superstar athletes, who else did something similar?

It's not impossible to believe. Its very hard to believe though.
