Goodnight, Mr No Tip sir. And good luck to you with service going forward with that T-U-D-E.
Thanks, punkin'.

Yes, it will. Slightly.
No, it really won't. It will just affect your service going forward. It ultimately affects you infinitely more than the market. One bad tipper amongst hundreds of people who have manners does not swing the market in a statistically and financially relevant manner.

I find it bizarre you people keep after me about conforming as well.
Because most people were taught how to be polite, respectful, and gracious

Who knows, maybe we'll establish a new norm of non-gratuity?
maybe we will, and if that happens, your cheapness will be offset by paying more for your meal. But until that happens, it just makes you cheap

I find it bizarre you people keep after me about conforming as well. Who are you to tell me how to spend my money?
Who are you to tell a server how to spend their time? There’s a social contract, you see. It works in both directions. When you show up to receive a service, it is expected that a generally standard payment will be received for a generally standard service. Again, you’re choosing to enter into those social contracts by patronizing those establishments.

Social norms are typically developed because they benefit the majority of people. Your current approach only works to ruin someone’s day because you want to prove a point nobody will ever hear.

He’s totally an alter. But WHO?
I would say Lester Earl but his new stick would favor servers. Hmmmmmmmmmm

I wouldn’t say Lester. This guy is capable of defending his positions without resorting to canned responses.

The guy paying the bill.

I've never signed a social contract. That's not how contracts work.

You realize your argument is only "That's the way it is and that's the way it will always be" when you say this, right? That's not true.

You could just ask me. Or is this more of you being relatable?
Disagreeing with you doesn't make me a troll, it just means we disagree.

No but joining a few weeks ago and being in the threads you’ve been does. Same for not just seeing someone’s side and understand. Alter 101.
This ain’t my first rodeo and I’ve have many alters.

God bartenders are so fricking entitled. I've done almost every job in a restaurant and it was criminal how much more the servers and bartenders made than the cooks and dish washers. cooks and dish washers do 90% of the work and receive maybe a 1/4 the pay. oh god I had to box some food or carry it 20 feet? I demand you give me 200% tip for that.

According to homeboy’s logic, they could just get better jobs
“County” waste management for example.

You know I agree with him right? waiters aren't entitled to anything. IF you can't make minimum wage from a waiting career find a different field. I expected nothing from people and received much more that way. It's like sales, you toss a coin on every person, some turn up others don't. If they don't move on and shut up about it I'm not owed what little that person probably has.

he's already making at least minimum wage.
Pretty solid he's making exactly minimum wage. And people forget that delivery drivers have a vehicle to maintain that isn't covered by the pizza place.
I slung pizzas to help get through college and yeah that shite gets expensive. Minimum wage isn't going to come anywhere close to covering that.
but yeah if the order was just one pizza....even if it was a $20 pizza....$10 is one hell of a tip. There is a chance maybe the driver didn't see the $5 tipped on the app but even so 25%(at the least) is a solid tip. Driver can go F himself if he didn't like that.
OP didn't include how much his order was but if it was just one pizza then he tipped MORE than enough. But also another poster might have been right in that the driver may have rather wanted to give/get a blowie and that's where OP dropped the ball.

I also wanted to circle back around and let you know that everyone in that establishment hates your guts, and if you go there often - they all know your face and you’re known as the guy who doesn’t tip.
Not that you care. But that’s what they’re all thinking. All of them.
One of the unwritten rules in life is to not piss off the people who make your food....even if you think you're in the right.

Henry needs to come to the realization he's eaten someone's spit a few times over the years.
