Pretty sure you can only triple your original bet so if you start with five, you can go to 15 behind it for 20 total.

Depends where you're playing. I've seen 10x odds around.

I like the double deck tables. Limit is usually high enough that you don't get the riff-raff playing.

If you want to protect your bet on the come out roll, place a field bet. I will do this occasionally but normally I'm not worried about protecting.

For craps, I like the Bonus craps tables the most, I'll hit either the all tall or all small rather frequently, and the all the way some as well. Fire bets? not at all.

Field bets are for suckers. Why put $10 up when you can protect your $10 line bet for $2.

How are you protecting it for $2 when its 2, 3, or 12? I also like being able to make money if the point is in the field. As I said before, I generally don't believe in protecting your bet but if you do, I think the field is the better way.

The field bet and the high and low bets are the same odds. House has a 5.56% edge on you.

Absolutely 100% correct. And this is coming from a guy who used to deal this shite.

There's a reason the area for that bet is so big on the table.

To be fair, I tend to roll quite a lot of 2, 3, 11, and 12, so I always use protection. I've cleaned up a few times on crapless craps due to this.

Corch, I used to be an "eye in the sky", and agree with you, when playing, friends and I ride primarily with the House, live on the DP/DC lines..and backing them up. Love trying to size up the coming out shooters by body language.

Love that time when it's slightly overdue for a 7, and the shooter is wild, one die goes off table..sometimes can feel Big Red coming next roll..7 Out!

Shooting like that can make ya or break ya! Usually not much middle ground for most tossers..better arrive with a gangster roll in tow just in case.

I tend to be very hot or very cold, but it's all for fun. I never play with anything I can't afford to lose.

A very good book to learn about craps and the math involved with the game is Advanced Craps by John Patrick. He is a big advocate of hedge bets.

My favorite hedge is with the Don't Pass. Put a buck on the hardways 6 or 8 and if it hits take $10 and down. You have six ways to win and now only four to lose.

For a $100 Pass line bet, work out the difference between $15.00 any craps hedge as opposed to a three-way craps hedge.
